Staff Profile

Delvene Smith

My name is Delvene Smith I was born and raised in Kempsey and am a proud Dunghutti woman. I lived in Kempsey most of my life and have strong family ties in and around the Macleay Valley.

In 2008 I was employed 2 days a week as a CDEP participant for Guri Wa Ngundagar Aboriginal Corporation and 3 days Part Time at Booroongen College as an admin assistant, about 6 months later I was given the opportunity to work full time as CDEP had ceased. I worked at the College before being transferred to work at Booroongen Djugun Main Office as a Receptionist where I had the opportunity in gaining my current position as the Community Aged Care Packages Coordinator.

My role is to provide services to our aged and frail aged Aboriginal Elders who would be unable to remain living independently in their own homes with day to day living skills.

I enjoy working at Booroongen by meeting people and gaining new skills and self-confidence to fulfil my duties and provide the best possible outcome for my clients.
