About VTP

The Home and Community Care (HACC) Volunteer Program

prepares people for tomorrow’s work force through training and volunteer programs.

 

Each volunteer receives the following training:

  • Senior First Aid
  • Specific industry training (to support volunteer placement) as identified by the Volunteer, Volunteer Training Coordinator and Host Employer.
  • Cross Cultural Awareness – Informing volunteers (and other organisations – if requested) about frail aged, and people with a disability that focus on how important spirituality and culture is in their lives

 

The aim of this program is to:

  • recruit and train people for volunteering with host employers
  • to ensure volunteers are suitably trained in industry skills that will enable them to become competitive in the job marketmost importantly, to enhance the independence of the frail aged, aged and people with a disability in the community by providing volunteer support services

 

The program is open to people from 15 years and over to assist, develop industry skills and knowledge whilst in the workplace.  Building tomorrow’s workforce today!

 

The HACC Volunteer Training Program covers the Mid-North Coast  Local Government Areas (LGAs) from Coffs Harbour down to Great Lakes, and out to Gloucester.
